The conference will be convened by Associate Professor Sydney Ch’ng. We are excited to welcome three international guest presenters, Francisco Bravo, Andrew Jacono and Chin Ho Wong as well local specialists to present on key topics.

Speaker Profiles

Sydney Ch'ng

A/Prof Sydney Ch’ng is Chair of the Education Committees of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and Melanoma Institute Australia. She is Associate Professor of Surgery at University of Sydney, and an examiner (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery) of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Trained in both head and neck ablative and reconstructive surgery, she specialises in head and neck skin cancers (cosmetically sensitive, advanced/metastatic, perineural invasion), facial reanimation and facial symmetrisation. With her skills and experience in undertaking complex head and neck surgeries, she is increasingly being sought for cosmetic facial surgical procedures. She has co-authored more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals, and more than 15 book chapters. She supervises multiple higher degree research students in translational and clinical studies, including in biosynthetic implant assisted tissue regeneration, clinical outcomes and patient reported outcome measures following complex facial reconstruction.

Andrew Jacono

Andrew Jacono, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a global authority in the field of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practicing in Manhattan. As one of New York City’s premiere plastic surgeons, Dr. Jacono is known for his original, advanced approach to non-surgical and minimally invasive Facial Rejuvenation including Facelifting, Eyelid lifting, and Rhinoplasty. He is Associate Clinical Professor, Division of Facial Plastic Surgery at The Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a leader in the field, Dr. Jacono has presented clinical research and conducted live surgery in front of peer audiences at over 100 plastic surgery meetings and symposiums around the world. In addition to his aesthetic work, Dr. Jacono volunteers for numerous charity organizations aimed at helping children with facial birth defects throughout the world with limited medical and financial resources receive surgeries, including cleft lip and palate reconstruction. To date, Dr. Jacono has completed surgery on more than 500 children.

Francisco Gomez Bravo

Dr. Gómez Bravo is an internationally trained and respected board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in facial, general plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has studied and lectured all over the world with many top surgeons. This, along with his international patient base, has given him a unique and extensive viewpoint that has allowed him to develop creative approaches for facial and other aesthetic concerns. Dr. Gómez Bravo is the president of the Spanish Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (AECEP) and member of the Spanish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (SECPRE). He is also one of the few European surgeons who is an active member of the two most important American societies in the specialty ASPS & ASAPS. He also received the award for the best scientific work from the British Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS).

Chin Ho Wong

Dr. Chin-Ho Wong is plastic surgeon in private practice in Singapore. He completed multiple fellowships including an Advanced Facial Aesthetics fellowship under his mentor, Dr. Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne, Australia. In 2010, he became the first recipient of the International Fellowship Award, by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Wong has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles in prestigious journals including the Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Lancet (resulting in 8439 citations, H index 37). He has won numerous international awards for his research work including the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery’s coveted Best International Paper in 2018 and Best Video Paper in 2021. He also contributed to several key reference textbooks in plastic surgery. His current research interests include facial anatomy, anatomical changes of the ageing face, aesthetic eyelid surgery and ptosis correction.
